The Nerve Alive capsules dosage is 2 capsules a day, preferably with a meal, according to the vendor. Each bottle holds 60 capsules, so it lasts 30 days. Part of our Nerve Alive overview. Last checked October 26, 2026.

The Nerve Alive capsules dosage is 2 capsules a day, "preferably with a meal", according to the vendor, and each bottle holds 60 capsules, so one bottle covers 30 days.[2] What those 2 capsules deliver is not stated: the label front says "With Magnesium" and gives no amount.

The directions below separate what the vendor wrote from what we infer.

How do you take Nerve Alive?

Take 2 Nerve Alive capsules a day, preferably with a meal. That is the only direction the vendor publishes.[2]

The vendor does not say:

  • whether to take both capsules together or split them across two meals
  • what time of day is best
  • what to do after a missed dose
  • whether the dose should change by age, weight or health condition

Our inference, not the vendor's: taking both capsules with the same meal each day is the simplest way to follow the label. If you miss a day, we would not double up the next day, since the magnesium amount is unknown. The directions on the bottle you receive override anything here, including our reading.

Swallow the capsules whole with water unless the bottle says otherwise. The vendor does not say whether they can be opened and mixed into food, so we would not do it.

What is the right dose and timing?

The right dose is the label dose of 2 capsules a day, because the vendor gives no evidence for any other amount. Taking more than the label says is a bad idea when nobody outside the company knows the milligrams inside.

Three points are sourced:

  • Serving: 2 capsules a day, 60 per bottle.[2]
  • Food: "preferably with a meal".[2]
  • Magnesium ceiling: the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements sets the adult upper limit for supplemental magnesium at 350 mg a day, counting supplements and medicines together.[4]

Consistency matters more than clock time for judging any supplement. Take it the same way each day so you can compare one week with the next. For the one-ingredient picture behind these numbers, see Nerve Alive ingredients.

How long does one bottle last?

One bottle lasts 30 days at 2 capsules a day. The vendor sells no single bottle, so the smallest order covers 60 days. Prices are from the vendor's order page, checked October 26, 2026, and may change at checkout.[1]

PackageCapsulesDays at 2 a dayPrice (checked October 26, 2026)Cost per day
2 bottles12060$158 plus shipping$2.63
3 bottles18090$207, free US shipping$2.30
6 bottles360180$294, free US shipping$1.63

The refund window is 60 days, and the returns page counts it from delivery.[3] A 6-bottle order lasts 180 days, so most of it would be unused when the window closes. Leave the "Subscribe & Save 10%" box at checkout unticked unless you want repeat shipments.

Plan your start date around delivery. The VSL FAQ says orders arrive in 3 to 12 business days in the US and Canada, while the home FAQ says 5 business days.[1][2] Start your symptom log when you order, then begin the capsules the day they arrive. Our Nerve Alive price page covers the order options.

What should you avoid while taking it?

Avoid stacking Nerve Alive with other magnesium products until you know its dose. ODS counts magnesium from supplements and medicines toward the 350 mg adult limit, and it links very large doses from laxatives and antacids to magnesium toxicity.[4]

  • Other magnesium: multivitamins, sleep blends, antacids and laxatives that contain it.
  • Other nerve supplements: the 4 unnamed Nerve Alive nutrients could overlap with what you already take.
  • Caffeine or stimulant products: the vendor does not say whether the capsules contain any stimulant, so add one new product at a time.
  • Medicine timing: ODS advises spacing magnesium from tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics (2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after) and from oral bisphosphonates (2 hours).[4]

If you take diabetes, blood pressure or nerve-pain medicines, show the label to your pharmacist first. More detail is on our Nerve Alive side effects page.

How do you track whether it is doing anything?

Keep a short daily log starting a week before your first capsule, so you have a baseline. Without one, normal day-to-day changes can look like an effect.

  1. Rate burning, tingling and numbness from 0 to 10 at the same time each day.
  2. Note where you feel it (toes, soles, hands) and how well you slept.
  3. Write down any stomach upset, rash or other new symptom, with the date.
  4. Record the date the order was delivered, since the refund window runs from delivery.[3]
  5. Keep the packing slip and every bottle, full or empty; the returns page asks for all of them.[3]

Compare week 1 with week 6 before the 60-day window ends. If you are unsure whether the product works at all, read does Nerve Alive work for neuropathy.

When should you stop and talk to a doctor?

Stop taking Nerve Alive and call a doctor if you get side effects or if nerve symptoms get worse. See a doctor right away if:

  • you have swelling of the face or throat, hives or trouble breathing
  • you get severe diarrhea, vomiting or an irregular heartbeat
  • numbness or weakness comes on suddenly or spreads quickly
  • a foot wound is not healing

Numbness, burning or tingling in the feet can signal diabetes or vitamin B12 deficiency, which need a diagnosis rather than a supplement.

How to take it: our summary

Follow the label, add nothing else new, and check the formula before the first dose.

  • Read the Supplement Facts on the bottle you receive.
  • Take 2 capsules a day with a meal; never more.
  • Count all magnesium sources toward 350 mg a day.
  • Show the label to your pharmacist if you take medicines.
  • Log symptoms daily and note the delivery date.
  • Keep every bottle and the packing slip for a refund.

Frequently asked questions

How many Nerve Alive capsules should I take a day?

The vendor says 2 capsules a day, preferably with a meal. Each bottle has 60 capsules, so it lasts 30 days. The vendor gives no reason to take more, and the magnesium amount per capsule is not published.

Should I take Nerve Alive in the morning or at night?

The vendor does not say. Its only timing note is to take the capsules preferably with a meal. Pick one meal and keep it the same each day so your symptom log stays comparable.

Can I take Nerve Alive on an empty stomach?

The vendor recommends taking it preferably with a meal, so food is the label's choice. Magnesium at high intakes can upset the stomach, which is another reason to follow the meal direction.

What if I miss a dose of Nerve Alive?

The vendor gives no missed-dose rule. We would skip the missed capsules and take the normal 2 the next day, rather than doubling up, because the magnesium dose is not published.
